Work Description
Communicate two messages regarding the importance of inclusive design. The first deliverable is a typographic poste but still reflect an inclusive theme. The second deliverable is sharing the messages by a short typographic social media gif.
First Deliverable
The first deliverable is a poster using braille as the main design element. Visual learners are good at analyzing patterns and shapes. In this case, the ‘FEEL WITH HEART’ braille type probably will be the strongest and most straightforward message to them. Meanwhile, the title of the poster can help them understand better. Oppositely, the poster title and the subtitle at the bottom left corner maybe got verbal learners’ attention first. Then they will start to look at the braille above and analyze the info together. Since the braille is a part of the design, I think it has no problems appeal to the physical learners. It would be a good idea to create braille while printing.
Second Deliverable
The ideal for this deliverable is trying to use the simple typography movement to present a clear message. For visual learners, I believe the stretching animation is kinda way to present “inclusive”. The letter stretching effect in the early few seconds is presenting the sentence “Be more inclusive”. The movement of each letter is actually connecting and including each other. For example, when the movement starts, the letter ‘B’ contains the letter ‘M’ and ‘O’, the letter ‘E’ contains the letter ‘R’ and ‘E’. ‘INCLUSIVE’ is doing the same. So, each letter is all connected and belong to each other before they finally turn into words. Then after the stretching animation finish. The ‘INCLUSIVE’ starts to turn into the rainbow color. It does not only contain the normal color but also including the colorblind versions. I think these are strong messages to the visual learner at some point. For verbal learners, I believe the simple and clear words probably will be the strongest message for them. For emphasis purpose, I divided the short sentence that only has three words in total into three pages/ slides. If the animation is posting on a social media platform like Instagram, this will be appeal to social and solitary learners as well. Social learners can analyze the message by communicating with others. Solitary learners can figure this out by themselves since they are more independent.
Thank you!
